Overview of the Disney Grand Floridian in Orlando

Sophistication and class surround the Victorian style of Disney’s Grand Floridan Resort and Spa at Disney World. This property is the perfect match if you are you looking for the most extravagant property to be pampered and unwind. As soon as you enter the grand hall, you feel it. It is actually quite Majestic with the 5 story high ceilings, huge chandeliers and plenty of seating as if you are in an exclusive club. At times, an orchestra will be playing different styles of music from Jazz to even some of your favorite Disney classics. While the Grand Floridian is quite opulent, it also has a lot for the kids as well.

Rooms & Suites

Take your pick from a variety of Room layouts and Suites at the Disney Grand Floridian Resort. The more standard rooms get you the best pricing but these rooms are quite a bit larger than most regular hotel rooms. At about 400 sq ft, you won’t feel cramped. Options for the standard rooms include, 2 Queen Beds and a Day Bed or 2 Queen Beds or 1 King and 1 Day or 1 King and a Sleeper Sofa. The Queen Rooms with the Day Bed can comfortably sleep up to 5 guests. Additional space is available by stepping up to either a 1 or 2 Bedroom Suite. Having privacy on your vacation is sometimes the best part of the trip so whether you just need the additional space to accommodate more people or if you just need your own space, consider one of the Suites at the Grand Floridian. Many of the Rooms have balconies with incredible views of the property and this is another consideration when booking. The view can be as important as the room itself. Room view options include the Courtyard, Pool, Seven Seas Lagoon and even views of the Magic Kingdom. If you get a view of the Theme Park, you can watch the Fireworks display every night from the comfort of your very own Room or Suite.

Things to do

Everything at the Disney Grand Floridian Hotel is done in the best way possible and when it comes to amenities, it is not lacking for any age. There are two (2) large pools at the resort. The Beach pool is located alongside the white sand beaches on the Seven Seas Lagoon. This zero-entry pool is great for all ages showcasing a long, 181 foot water slide and a kids splash center complete with large dumping water bucket, sprinklers and a couple of small water slides. A few Cabanas are available but reserve them early because there are only a few. Relax by the Pool or by the waters edge on the sand beach and soak in some of the Florida sun. Rent a boat and take it out on the Lake or take off on a Pirate Adventure Cruise. You will also find family fun at the Basketball Court, a fishing excursion and even evening Campfire events where you can roast marshmallows.

From Quick Service, grab-n-go options to Casual Dining all the way up to some of the finest dining in Orlando, it is all here at one of the eight restaurants on the property. If you have kids or maybe there is still a kid in you, be sure to book the Character dining breakfast at least once at the 1900 Park Fare restaurant.
