Overview of the Disney Wilderness Lodge in Orlando

Oh, the great Northwest portion of America with the most amazing National Parks like Yosemite and Yellowstone. When you go to these locations, there is nothing else you want to do but look around at the sheer Majesty of it all. You get a very similar sensation when you visit the Wilderness Lodge Resort at Disney World. Disney made this Deluxe Resort around the beauty of nature and even though it looks rustic, it is one of the most luxurious hotels in Disney World. The first time you walk in to the lobby it is difficult to hold back the amazement you feel. Everything is just so large in comparison to the other properties. The Disney Wilderness Lodge is not on the Monorail loop but it is on the Bay Lake which connects to the Seven Seas Lagoon with the Magic Kingdom. Easily get back and forth to this main park by getting on a water taxi.

Rooms

Each of the rooms at the Wilderness Lodge at Disney World are the same size with the exception of the Deluxe Rooms. The rooms are a little smaller than you would expect from this size resort at 340 square feet. Where many of the other Deluxe Disney Resorts are a bit larger. Still, it is plenty of space and the views make up for any loss in size in the rooms. The Deluxe Rooms could almost be considered a 1 Bedroom Suite with a separate living space and bedroom. A total of 4 guests are allowed in each of the standard rooms and the deluxe can have up to 6 guests. Select the view that works best for your stay like the woods, courtyard, pool or Bay Lake. If you get a room on an upper floor facing in the direction of the Magic Kingdom, there is a good chance you will be able to see the Fireworks display.

Things to do

Going to the Disney World Parks is probably the item first and foremost on your kids mind but once they step outside of the main hall at the Disney World Wilderness Lodge, they might change their tune. Most guests will first see the Copper Creek Springs Pool with 67 foot water slide and seating all around. For the smaller ones, a water splash park is located beside this pool with a couple of smaller slides, a dumping bucket and plenty of water sprinklers. The Boulder Ridge Cove Pool is a much quieter pool if you need to get away from the crowds. What else is available? Well let’ see: Fishing, Rent a Boat, Rent a Bike, watch a movie under the stars, visit the arcade and don’t forget to take the family to a night around the campfire. Roast some marshmallows and make some of the best family memories you could imagine.

Dining

What kind of Dining are you looking for? If fine dining is the answer, be sure and make reservations at Artist Point and get a window seat overlooking Bay Lake and all of the great nature surrounding the Wilderness Lodge in Disney World. If you are heading out to the parks but just want to get a quick bite to eat before heading out, stop by the Geyser Point Bar & Grill or the Roaring Fork, There is also a bar at the pool for the adults to get a favorite drink while hanging out with the kids.
