PROS
Pros:
Italian beauty and feel is what you get when you stay at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando. It is truly like a piece of Italy was brought over to Florida. The staff is always very professional and the grounds are immaculate. Our kids has the best time in the bombshell beds with Minions all around. What a hoot! Oh, and the pool is fantastic. The entire family had a great time lounging around and sliding down the large water slide. The restaurants are wonderful and eating out by the harbor with boats all around is one of the most scenic places around Orlando.
CONS
Cons:
It is pretty expensive to stay at the Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando but part of this is for the convenience of easy access to the parks. If you are used to staying at Disney Resorts you are used to Free parking at the hotels. That is not the case at the Universal Portofino Bay Resort (or any of the Universal Hotels, I think). Be sure to add this cost in to your daily stay. It is not cheap. Some guests felt that the rooms were a little noisy too.
