Family trips are more fun when the adults have the beautiful, more peaceful setting that they want and the kids have all of the fun imaginable splashing in the Waikolohe Pool, slipping down the tunnel body slide and zipping around the Aulani Resort with the extreme rapids or slow it down a bit with the lazy river. There is also an adults only pool if you are looking for a more quiet, intimate setting. Everyone will enjoy the private lagoon, perfect for snorkeling without having to hit the waves of the ocean at the Rainbow Reef, and this is just a start of what makes the Disney Aulani Resort a Unique place to stay.

PROS

Pros:
Well, it is a Disney Resort after all. Most of the reviews lean towards the Aulani being the most wonderful place on earth, much less Hawaii. The Staff is said to be very friendly, all of the rooms and areas around the Aulani Resort are kept very clean. The implementation of the Hawaiian Culture, food and art is incredible as you walk around. Disney truly does a fantastic job of matching up your surroundings with the authenticity of the island as well as making it supremely fun for the kids. Be sure to get a view overlooking the lagoon and beach. Most guests agree it is worth the difference. Staying in a Resort like Disney Aulani was the best for our kids. They loved having all of the water fun with Water Slides, Lazy River and Splash Park.

CONS

Cons:
A couple of the families who brought their kids thought that since this was a Disney Resort, there would be a lot of interaction with Disney Characters like, Mickey, Minnie and Goofy but at least some felt that they were not around very much at all unless you paid for the Character Breakfast of Dinner options. Some couples, who were looking for pure romance and might not be Disney Fanatics felt that the Aulani Resort and Spa by Disney is definitely geared more for families.
