Overview of the Disney Grand Californian Resort
You cannot get much closer to Disneyland’s California Adventure than staying at the Disney Grand Californian Resort. It is literally so close, you can walk right out of the back and you have your own private entrance to the Park. Not only that, on the other side of the Grand Californian Resort, you will have direct, walk-in access to Downtown Disney and all of the restaurants and shopping it has to offer. Additional transportation is provided by the Monorail system.
The Rooms and Suites at the Grand Californian are the best Disney has to offer. If you are planning a trip and want to keep the cost down, staying in one of the standard rooms with a couple of queen beds is probably your best bet. On the other hand, additional space and a more home-like feel can be shared with a 1 to 3 bedroom suite with private rooms for everyone and even sleeper sofas to extend the number of guests.
There is more to do at the Disney Grand Californian Resort than you can probably get done in your stay. The 3 outdoor pools are a big part of the adventure. The largest, Redwood Pool even has a 90 foot water slide for the kids, oh yes, and even the adults to splash down. If a more adult theme is what you are desiring, head over to the Mariposa Pool where you can even rent a relaxing Cabana and be pampered in an extra fashion.
From the Storytellers Cafe to the Napa Rose, the Grand Californian has dining options to fit everyone. Breakfast is not free but can be included in your Disney Dining plan if you wish to pay for everything up front.

Disney's Grand Californian Hotel Reviews
Pros:
What a great location! It is difficult to beat the Grand Californian if you want to walk out of the Hotel and have access to the Parks and Downtown Disney. We were impressed by our room and how comfortable the bedding was. Time spent at the pools was a relaxing time for us and the kids had a fantastic time with the redwood water slide.
Cons:
Amazingly enough, some of the guests did not feel that the Disney Staff was as friendly and the Cast Members in Disney World in Florida. It is definitely pricey so be prepared to spend when you go.
